\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHIKE FOR DUCHENNE IX, HIKING FOR THE GOOD CAUSE\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n\r\nSapphire Foundation is a registered Non-Profit Organization Operating in Sub-Saharan Africa in Uganda. Over the years we have been helping Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy families and other rare diseases. We have also been at the forefront of fighting for vulnerable groups to fulfill their potential in our community\r\n\r\nFrom 18th June to 18th <\/sup>august we are hiking up to 150 miles to raise funds to help care for kids and families suffering from Duchenne Muscular\u00a0Dystrophy and other rare diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa. Join us as a participant or as a pledger and donor.\r\n\r\nEither way, we will be extremely grateful because every mile and every dollar counts! Each dollar goes a long way in\u00a0Sub-Saharan Africa where we are serving.\r\n\r\nPledge for each mile that someone\u00a0hikes,\u00a0walks,\u00a0power walks,\u00a0runs, bikes or swims\u00a0<\/strong>during the 3-month season. Individuals may go as high as 150 miles during the 3 months as they try to raise money for Sapphire Africa Foundation\r\n\r\nA person can participate wherever they are in the world. They may do all 150 miles or some portion.\u00a0 Some may go over. Ask your participant how much they plan to do before you pledge, ok?\r\n\r\nRaising money is not required to participate but it makes it more fun if you ask me.\u00a0 Again, no specific location is required.\r\n\r\nBy the end of this Hike we expect to have raised money and the major goal for this Hike is to\u00a0is to improve the health-related quality of life for children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and other rare diseases, and increase educational opportunities for the children that we have been helping, individuals and families in developing countries.\r\n\r\nDuchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a genetic disease that causes progressive muscle weakness, leading to disability, impaired function, and decreased ability to participate in daily activities.\r\n\r\nChildren in developing countries are often underserved, neglected, and\/or abandoned by their parents and relevant authorities. Some families live in remote areas with little to no access to medical and healthcare resources. Additionally, impoverished individuals and families struggle to meet their daily basic needs due to lack of much-needed resources. Sapphire Foundation seeks to educate, empower, and equip individuals with products, services, and skills to improve overall quality of life and sustainable and self-reliant living in developing countries.\r\n\r\nPledge to support a hiker, walker or runner today.
