Deep down in of Nakaseke district, Sapphire Africa Foundation conducted its 2020 medical camp which saw more than 3200 get treatment.
For two busy and unforgettable days, on the 16th and 17th of August, our dedicated team of healthcare professionals embarked on a mission of compassion and care. The first light of dawn marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey, with our camp opening its doors promptly at 8 a.m. to already waiting people who had been at the venue since 6am. As the sun went down, we continued our efforts, ceaselessly attending to the health and well-being of the community until 8 p.m. which was almost four hours off the time we had agreed but because of the great need we had to stay and serve.
On the second day, we pressed on, starting at 8 a.m. and concluding at 7 p.m. before nature reminded us of its unpredictability, as rain graced our endeavors. Undeterred. Our team, consisting of three skilled doctors, two compassionate dentists, six nurturing nursing assistants (including two from the USA), and a midwife, worked tirelessly to bring relief and healing even when numbers continued to soar.

With our team’s work, we witnessed transformative moments – dental surgeries restoring smiles, body scans providing insights, and a plethora of blood and urine tests unveiling hidden truths. Conditions ranging from hepatitis B, Malaria, high blood pressure, ulcers, typhoid, to skin and dental issues were met with compassion and expertise.
Our outreach extended beyond the clinic walls. We distributed vital medications. Antibiotics, de-wormers, pain relievers, and specialized skin treatments were shared, ensuring that every individual left with a piece of hope and healing in their hands.
In the battle against Malaria, we armed communities with mosquito nets, safeguarding their homes and families. But our commitment to well-being didn’t stop there. We seized the opportunity to educate on healthy living and proper eating habits, recognizing that prevention is a powerful tool in the fight for a healthier future.
Amidst the medical interventions, we made space for solace and spiritual nourishment, providing a haven for the word of God.
This endeavor was made possible through the support of our donors and partners. We extend our deepest gratitude to MBN Clinical Laboratories, Mavid, and Ropa Spaces for standing with us in this vital mission.
As the sun set on Nakaseke, August 2023, we left behind not just healed bodies, but also empowered souls. This is the legacy we aim to build, one of compassion, care, and community. Together, we’re forging a future where every individual has the chance to thrive.
