Sapphire Foundation Partners With Bountiful Generation To Reach Out Duchenne Families
On Sunday 26
th June 2022 Sapphire foundation with a bountiful generation embarked on the Journey to visit some of the Duchenne families in Wakiso district. We started off the Journey early in the morning and the first family we visited was Brian’s family in Kyengera. Brian is a 13-year-old Duchenne patient who lives in kyengera, he is schooling and is in primary six. We had an interaction with Brian he has very big dreams and is of great intellect and he likes computers very much, he can talk and he is very vibrant but it hurts so much to see Brian laying helpless in the chair. His body is getting weaker every day that passes let’s keep him in prayer.

We gave them their small package that we carried for them and they very appreciative and asked us to extend their thanks to whoever that is trying to make a difference in their lives. Lastly we shared the word of God and prayed together and set off to another destination.
We visited Paul kayonga in Wakiso Gobbero to check on him and the boys they were very excited upon seeing us. We interacted and talked about a lot of things.
Paul Kayonga is a single father and he takes of his two boys single-handedly us all who have been part of the journey to restore hope in his life.
The boys were fine but their bodies are getting weaker every day that goes by, Emma who used to walk around with his father can no longer walk so it’s the Dad who has to carry them all the time in case they need to change position or place. Paul Kayonga is also having diabetes and hypertension, sometimes he is also down with illness but at the same time he has to be there for the boys and life is not that easy for him to let’s keep him in our prayers. He also received his package and was very appreciative of each one of us.
However, Kayonga still has challenges, his pit latrine got full and the newly dug pit was left unfinished due to insufficient funds. We would like to call upon all those who are willing to help Kayonga get a new pit latrine because the other old one may cause accidents any time if we don’t come to their rescue. We prayed together and left.
We visited two more needy families in Wakiso Gobbero.
We visited a single mom who stays in a single room with her six children of six children one is disabled and keeps roaming in the village. Three of her children go to school and she finding difficulties in paying for them school fees where we pledged to give support once we get the funds to help. We also gave them their package and went to the next family.

We visited this old lady who is leaving in the church building, her house collapsed and the church decided to shelter them till they find enough funds to build themselves a new house. This woman is living with eight children who are her grandchildren he also lives with her daughter in the same house who is said to be the last born and this girl has two children and she’s also a single mother and as she was narrating to us her story she said that she has never gotten support from the fathers of her children.
Five of those children go to school, and they asked for our helping hand in any way we can to help her construct a new house and help her children to pay fees so that they can have a chance to education
Finally, we encouraged her to stay strong and pledged to give her all the support that we can get.
We would like to thank you all our donors and all those who ever that has been part of this Journey. God bless you Abundantly.
